How Babel protects translated conversations
Private conversations require clear, specific answers. Babel limits access to conversation data, does not save audio recordings, uses encrypted network connections, and gives the chat creator control over shared transcript deletion. This page explains the product design; the Privacy Policy remains the governing notice.

Live audio and saved transcripts
Babel processes live audio to recognize speech, translate it, and synthesize translated audio. Babel does not save an audio recording in chat history. It saves the resulting source and translated text so authorized participants can revisit the conversation.

Access and account protection
Google sign-in establishes the Babel account. Application sessions use secure, HttpOnly cookies, and provider or room credentials are short-lived and scoped to the authorized conversation. Only signed-in chat participants can open or export its transcript.

Conversation and transcript endpoints check that the signed-in user belongs to the chat.
Invitation boundaries
Invitation access is expiring and tied to the intended conversation flow.

Deletion, providers, and analytics
The chat creator can delete the shared chat, removing it from participants’ histories. Limited deletion markers, billing, fraud-prevention, legal records, or backups may remain where required. Babel relies on Google, OpenAI, LiveKit, Polar, Resend, Cloudflare, and database or hosting providers to operate the service.
Privacy-conscious measurement
Product analytics avoid audio, transcript text, names, emails, invitation tokens, chat IDs, and form contents.
No sale or ad use
Babel does not sell personal information or use conversation contents for advertising.

Security has limits
No online service can promise absolute security. Use a strong, protected Google account, keep invitation links private, and avoid Babel for emergency, medical, legal, or safety-critical interpretation. Review the full Privacy Policy for retention, rights, and contact details.
